During our taxi and takeoff, we both listened to some music and enjoyed the seat.  The seat is really comfortable like a giant recliner with ample storage, padding, and recline.  Once fully airborne the service began.  The "Singapore Girls" working the cabin introduced themselves again, refilled our champagne glasses and went over the lunch menu.

As we were looking over the menu, I noticed (not sure how we didn't notice during boarding) that Chelsea Clinton was sitting in the window seat in our row.  She was returning from a Clinton Global Initiative trip to Southeast Asia and was traveling light - just her and her chief of staff.

Chelsea's post on the outbound.  For some reason I can't get this many likes on my posts.

Emily and I are huge Clinton fans so it was pretty cool.  She was friendly the entire flight and while the cabin crew seemed to know who she was, they didn't seem to single her out service wise which was neat to see.  When we deplaned in Seoul for our 90 minute layover, I expected her to be mobbed by people in the airport but no one seemed to care or perhaps no one recognized her.

Now back to the flight...the trip to Seoul Incheon is roughly 5.5 hours and is a day time flight so we both enjoyed our champagne, watched a couple of movies, and had a great meal.

We landed in Seoul in around 5:15 PM local time and headed to the Asiana First Class lounge.  We had just enough time to take a quick shower and check email before heading back to the gate.  We boarded in a matter of minutes and took the same seats.  The flight from Seoul to San Francisco departs around 7PM local time and is a 12 hour flight.  So it is timed really nicely.  We settled in to our seats, had some more champagne and pondered the dinner menu.  One of the "problems" with these flights is that there is so much food.  Our lunch would have kept us full for another day but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat some more especially when Caviar is on the menu.

Still a long way to go...

After dinner, we asked that our beds be made.  These seats require that a crew member manually "flip over" the seat, and add the mattress pad, pillows, sheets, and duvet.  While my bed was being made, I headed to the lavatory to get ready for bed and returned in a few minutes to this.

No problem sleeping in this bed

My bed was made perfectly.  Turned down and everything.  I laid down, finished the rest of my movie, and drifted off to sleep for six hours while we cruised over the Pacific Ocean.  I woke up about forty minutes outside of San Francisco.  Just enough time to change, brush my teeth, and have some coffee before landing.

This was an outstanding flight.  Singapore Airlines is one of the best airlines in the world...the food, service, amenities, seat, and bed were all top notch.  The fact that Chelsea Clinton was sitting in the same cabin was pretty cool too.  We are both looking forward to flying Singapore's other first class product (closed door suites) on our return from Bali in July!!!
