I really like the look of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport.  There are rows upon rows of check in desks for airlines headed to exotic locations all over the world.  The people are just as diverse headed home, to their holiday, on a business trip, or just transiting through.

Thai Airways has their premium check-in for first and business (Royal Silk) class passengers in row A which is all the way to the left upon entering the great hall.  We made our over and were immediately shown to a check in desk.  The check-in process is unique in that there are umbrellas at each station along with cubes where you can sit down if you'd like.  The color scheme is decidedly "Thai Airways Purple" which I like a lot.

Straight ahead to fast track immigration & security

Our bags checked to Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport, we walked over to fast track immigration and security which is connected to the premium row landslide and the lounge airside.  A total of 7 minutes from the check-in desk to the lounge.  That is efficiency!

We have been to the lounge before and enjoyed our time in the Royal Orchid Spa so much that was the first order of business.  The lounge is very long and narrow so we walked the length of the lounge and exited through the double glass doors towards the spa.  Upon entering the spa we were informed that there was no wait for massages which was awesome.  As a business class passenger you have your choice of 30 minute treatments (foot massage or neck/shoulder).  We both selected neck/shoulder massages and were taken back to our respective massage rooms in minutes.  My massage was great.  The perfect way to start the morning on vacation.  The massages are complimentary but I always make sure to trip a couple hundred Thai Baht.

After our massages we had some tea in the massage lounge and then headed back over to the main lounge for some breakfast and power for our devices.  The lounge has plenty of food and drink options and a ton of comfortable seating.  There is also no shortage of power outlets which is immensely helpful when trying to charge multiple devices prior to departure.

An hour before departure we left the lounge to do some shopping.  I picked up a couple of Jim Thompson t-shirts and we headed to the gate which was located just off the shops one level down.

Our ride to Bali!

Thai Airways has a phenomenal setup at BKK.  Maybe one of the best business class ground experiences in the world and always a pleasure to spend time in their lounges...especially the Royal Orchid Spa.
