Upon landing in Hong Kong, we headed to The Bridge for some coffee and plane spotting.  I previously reviewed The Bridge in this trip report series so won't go into much more detail than that.  After an hour or so in the The Bridge, we headed back into the terminal and made our way to The Wing.  The lounge is located on the opposite end of the terminal as The Bridge so it's a bit of a hike.  But it felt great to stretch our legs knowing we still had a lot of traveling to do.

Not a bad walk from The Bridge to The Wing

I have read numerous reviews of The Wing but it was still a bit hard to find despite the fantastic signage in the airport.  When we found the entrance, we were warmly greeted and welcomed into the gorgeous space.  I love the look of this lounge - black lacquer, white marble, and red and brown leather make for a super sexy combo.

This way to The Cabanas

We have been to some amazing lounges all over the world including The Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt and The Singapore Airlines Private Room in Singapore.  I have to say that after my first visit, The Wing rounds out my personal top three.  We didn't find the service to be over the top like the other top lounges, but the design, food, drinks, and shower cabanas make it an awesome place to kill enjoy a few hours.

We walked through the lounge to the shower cabanas and expected to put our name on a list and grab a cocktail.  But to our surprise they had a cabana open.  We told the attendant we would share and she nodded her approval.

More than just a shower

The Wing Cabana bathtub

The cabana is stunning.  There is a toilet, dual closets, vanity sink, extra wide vanity, daybed for lounging, open shower, and bathtub.  Since we didn't expect to get a cabana right away we didn't have anything to drink.  So Emily made her way to the bar to grab a couple of beers although they would only allow cans in the cabanas.  We spent several hours relaxing in the cabana and then showered and changed before heading to The Haven (the sit down restaurant located in the lounge) for lunch.  The cabana at The Wing was hands down the nicest shower room I've seen at an airport.  We felt totally relaxed and ready to tackle our 12 our flight to LAX.

But first, we sat down in the Haven for lunch.  The restaurant is catered by the famed Peninsula hotel group which is pretty cool.  There is an a-la-carte menu with wine pairings as well as a fairly substantial buffet.  We opted to split an entree off the menu with the wine pairing and separately grabbed a few things from the buffet.  We both found the food to be excellent although we didn't eat a ton given the amount of food on offer on our flight.  There is also a noodle bar if you want something a bit more casual.

After lunch we headed out to the bar as we watched plane after plane takeoff.

The bar at The Wing

We kept our celeb streak intact spotting Michael Kors (his company is actually based in Hong Kong) in the lounge before he headed out to the Cathay Pacific flight to JFK which left at the same time as our flight to LAX.

Champagne bar and seating areas

Pretty much perfect view

30 minutes before departure, we headed down to the gate area (literally a 100 foot walk from the lounge) where boarding procedures were already underway.  We were both sad that our trip was coming to an end but excited for what would be a phenomenal flight!

Our ride to LA

The Wing is an excellent lounge.  If you are flying through Hong Kong and are able to get access, you should definitely take advantage of a few hours in the lounge.  Make getting a cabana a priority and enjoy a glass of Champagne while starting out at the mountains, planes taking off, or terminal.  Tough to beat especially if you're preparing for a long journey back home.
