Review: Fairmont Pacific Rim

Introduction
Planning & Booking
Cathay Pacific 777-300ER First Class New York (JFK) to Vancouver
Fairmont Pacific Rim
Shangri-La Vancouver

After a great flight from New York, we arrived at the Fairmont Pacific Rim around 1AM.  Check-in formalities were processed very quickly given the hour and the fact that we were likely the last guests to check in for the "previous night."  Our keys were ready and we were on our way to the elevators and ready for bed.  The Fairmont Pacific Rim was built for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is a gorgeous hotel.  The lobby bar was still packed and had we not been so tired would definitely had come back down for a cocktail.

Thanks to the Chase Fairmont Visa Signature Card both of our room nights were free and we had been upgraded to a giant "junior suite."  I put that in quotations because there was nothing junior about this suite.  Upon entering our 6th floor room, we found the bedroom on the right with a full bathroom.  On the left was a second full bathroom.  Straight ahead was the living room, dining area with a table and 4 chairs, and an amazing balcony with dining table and another 4 chairs.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

The toiletries are Le Labo branded which are super high end and smell great.

There was a note from the hotel along with a small amenity consisting of bottled water and chocolates.

Thanks Fairmont!

There was also a wet bar with a Nespresso machine (our favorite!).

The weather wasn't great so unfortunately we didn't get to use the balcony as much as we'd like.  There is a great pool and hot tub on the sixth floor that we did use.

Amazing views from the balcony

The hotel has a partnership with BMW where you can rent BMW bikes or get a ride (within either 2km or 2mi) in a 7 series.  We didn't take advantage of either given that we prefer walking but good options if that's your thing.

Turndown

All in all, this was one of the most complete hotel stays we've had in awhile.  The price was certainly right but the suite blew away our expectations.  The hotel is situated close to Stanley Park and the CBD so everything is really close.  You could even walk to the train to the airport in about 5 minutes. We loved our first Fairmont stay and will definitely be back once Emily picks up the Fairmont card and we earn two additional nights!

On Saturday afternoon, we packed up and walked (about 7 minutes) to the Shangri-La Vancouver.
