Aircraft:  777-200ER
Seats:  14A/14C

We boarded the aircraft and made our way to our seats in row 14.  While we love Singapore Airlines, these 777's are in desperate need of a renovation.  The purple color scheme is definitely a throwback to another decade.  The angled lie flight seats are fine for a daytime 4.5 hour flight but not as great for a redeye.  The flight went out with about 10 people in business class so we had plenty of room to stretch out.

We settled in and the cabin crew introduced themselves and handed out socks, slippers, and eyeshades.

The seatbacks feature a couple of pockets for storage (including cellphone pocket) and a small entertainment screen.

There's also a reading light, headphone jack and power outlet at each seat.

The seat controls were somewhat confusing although I eventually was able to get comfortable.  You can see that these seats have been through a lot.

We started off with a couple of glasses of Champagne (Charles Heidsieck) and kept it going throughout the flight.

Packaged nuts were served as well.

Once up in the air, we were served a solid three course meal complete with salad, main course, and cheese course/dessert.  I can't for the life of me remember exactly what I ordered.

I finished things up with a cappuccino and a couple of episodes of Mr. Robot.  The entertainment system looped a handful of movies and tv shows but that's about it.  I'd reccomend bringing your own entertainment (and headphones).  The flight flew by and we were soon touching down at SIN for our quick overnight.

We made our way quickly to immigration, grabbed our bags, and made the five minute walk to the Crowne Plaza.

Final Thoughts:
If flying east from Male, this flight (or the redeye depending on your preference) is probably your best option.  The ME3 all over service to their respective hub airports but once halfway around the world, you might as well keep going and continue the journey east.  Hopefully Singapore Airlines will refresh the product on these sectors but given the designation (leisure) they probably will keep their outdated product flying until they retire these aircraft.
